GoPro's Hero5 Session: the perfect throw-and-go camera
2017-03-10
the GoPro Hero 5 session looks a whole
lot like the original session the camera
makers first super small fully
waterproof camera in fact outside of the
branding and it's USB C port there's
little to tell them apart on the outside
anyway
the actual camera part has been
overhauled so it can now record it up to
4k resolution to 30 frames per second or
full HD at 60 frames per second with
electronic image stabilization to help
take some of the shake out of your
videos like the beefier Hero 5 black the
session can be controlled with voice
commands so you can do everything from
capturing the time-lapse to tagging
highlights when your hands are busy and
since it is so much smaller than the
black you can put it more places like on
a hockey puck which is very cool and
nauseating anyway there's no touch
screen like the blacks just this little
screen for changing settings but with
the built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi you can
quickly connect to your phone to see
what you're shooting and transfer and
edit clips to when you're done and for
easy clip sharing you can auto upload to
the five dollar-a-month gopro + cloud
service when you plug it in to charge
the biggest downside is its built-in
battery because that means there's no
swapping when the battery dies up until
that happens though the Hero 5 session
is an awesome camera for any conditions
that's ready to record at the press of a
button
