Google ATAP: Your next wearable could be your shirt

where's fashion going to go in
technology are you gonna be able to
touch your shirt and do things and make
magical things happen with fabrics well
there's a division within Google a tab
that has a project called Project
jacquard and that's here at Google i/o
and it's basically showing how you can
weave together fabrics that have some
interactive properties to them and now
with this touch sensitive fabric you can
just tap it to turn the lights on and
off or you can increase the brightness
or I could even change the color I could
use a piece of interactive fabric to
control my music just by tapping or
stroking or doing that or volume imagine
if this was on my shirt or comfy pillow
you can even kind of use it as a
trackpad or a interactive art tool
that's not really clear what else you
could do but I guess they're exploring
the idea of textiles as a future piece
of the puzzle and technology it's part
of the mysteries of what's around at
Google i/o always interesting science
projects and fun things to explore
I'm Scott Stein at CNET and I have been
stroking fabric to make things happen
