Google has finally figured out how to
conquer your TV I'm Jessica's all court
for CNET and this is a look at
chromecast now chromecast is about two
inches of HDMI dongle you plug the
dongle into your TV press the cast
button do some setup on your laptop your
tablet or your phone and then you are
able to actually stream from the cloud
content that you have on your device
onto the TV so right now I'm playing see
net on cars video I'm controlling it
from this Nexus 7 and it is playing here
on the TV why you might want to do this
of course is that instead of huddling
over your tablet your laptop or your
phone with a large group of people you
can check out really great HD quality or
whatever quality you have on the TV
behind you
same goes for music as well this will
work right now with Pandora google music
google videos also Netflix and YouTube
and in addition to that you can stream
anything from a Chrome web browser tab
onto the TV chromecast will work with
Android and iOS for now Google doesn't
have any plans at this point to expand
to Windows Phone or blackberry this
little dongle costs $35 you can buy it
first in the US through Amazon Best Buy
or the Google Play Store and it will
expand to other countries as well now we
did test it here Internet Studios using
the nexus 7 device and the TV setup was
pretty quick and easy you do have to
make sure that you're on the same Wi-Fi
connection but everything that we tried
Casting works pretty well I'm Jessica's
all court for CNET this has been your
first look at the chromecast HDMI dongle
you can read all about it at cnet.com
