Google Fit's automatic activity tracking is getting smarter on Android Wear
2016-05-18
Google's Android wear watch has already
have a fit app that measures a lot of
things but it's going to start getting
more automatic with how it tracks
exercise first of all it tracks activity
automatically it's going to start doing
that so if I start running like a lot of
top fitness trackers fit will now notice
when I start running and it can be run
over a couple of different apps so if I
start doing this just start running it
the place it's going to start out
recording this automatically yeah it's
just buzz so there you go and it started
recording that I was running google fit
can also record exercise like
weightlifting so if you start strength
training and hit start and I just start
doing any activity in here like this
it's going to know what weightlifting
activity I was doing so if I stop I can
see that it said are you doing a bicep
curl and I was and accounts I did eight
reps so it uses the existing
accelerometer gyro meter on your Android
wear watches this is part of a bunch of
the google fit updates that are coming
alongside andr where 2.0 in the fall to
try to reinvent the google SmartWatch
