Google symptom search will help diagnose you (CNET Update)

Google knows what ails you a new update to Google's mobile site and mobile apps will bring medical information directly in search results normally a search for something like headache on one side will give you a little box explaining the condition along with a bunch of blue search results that's changing underneath that little explainer will now be a section entitled health conditions related to this search you'll be presented with cards explaining what your symptom could mean google says it could be a headache migraine tension headache and a whole lot of other options clicking through the one you'll get a ton more information on a particular ailment Google will tell you how common something like a migraine is as well as what causes them tabs on the top of the card give even more information on symptoms and treatments Google also provides an option to export the information it presents as a PDF in case you want to print it out or keep an offline version for yourself where did Google get all the data its presenting it comes from a variety of sources including the World Health Organization the Mayo Clinic and Harvard Medical School google says symptoms search is intended for informational purposes only and tells you to consult a doctor for actual medical advice the company also wants users to report errors clicking on the feedback text will let you report a mistake this new feature is rolling out on mobile now Google did not say if and when the speech will make its way to desktop Google that's it for this tech news update I'm Maya's act heart you can stay on top of the biggest stories at cnet.com
