HP recalls over 100,000 notebook
batteries batteries are super important
without them would always be tethered to
a wall there maybe invest in super long
extension cords
however batteries can cause trouble just
ask HP
lithium-ion batteries used in certain HP
notebook computers are being recalled
the problem is they can overheat which
could lead to fires or burns this is an
expansion of a recall from last year in
June 2016
HP were called 41,000 batteries in the
u.s. those batteries were found in HP
and Compaq computers how do you know if
your HP is affected by this recall the
batteries use Panasonic cells were found
in HP compaq HP probook HP Envy Compaq
Presario
and HP Pavilion notebooks these
computers were sold between March 2013
and October 2016 in the notice at the US
Consumer Product Safety Commission you
can also see what you should be looking
for in the barcodes if you have one of
these batteries remove them from your
notebook HP will provide a free
replacement battery the CPSC says if
your battery was not affected by the
recall of 2016 we check your battery
