hey everyone I'm Bonnie cha senior
editor at cnet com and I'm here to give
you a first look at the HTC mozart this
is another international Windows Phone 7
device that we got in thanks to HTC and
as you can see it looks a lot like the
other touchscreen smartphones we've seen
lately but if you look closer you'll
find that it has some really nice
touches and details first of all it's
made from a single piece of brushed
aluminum so in the hand it feels solid
not possibly your cheap it's also super
slim and light so it's a breeze to carry
around if you turn the phone around
you'll see a bit of a topographic design
on the back some of you may not like it
but I think it looks pretty cool another
unique cosmetic feature of the Mozart is
the battery compartment if you slip off
the battery door you'll see a latch here
that you flip open to release the
battery and access the sim card slot the
design doesn't enhance the phone in any
way but I definitely appreciate the
thought that went into it if there's one
downside to the design is the smaller
display measures 3.7 inches diagonally
which seems puny compared to some of the
other four plus inch touch screens on
the smart phones today but it's still
sharp and clear and the pinch to zoom
gesture works well the HTC mozart has
many of the standard features including
a 1 gigahertz Snapdragon processor it is
a little more multimedia focused with
surround sound technology and an 8
megapixel camera which is currently the
largest camera on in Windows Phone 7
device today the sound enhancements were
definitely a nice addition since it
boosted the overall audio quality
especially when I was listening to tunes
with my headphones but the camera was a
big disappointment pictures came out
blurry and the video quality was also a
little hazy and had kind of a pinkish
hue to it so that kind of eliminated the
whole appeal of this device if you don't
care about the camera the Mozart still
offers good performance and a great
design but you're paying a lot for it
since the unlocked version starts at
five hundred dollars if you're after a
good camera phone there are a number of
other great options which you can check
out in our top camera phones list at
cnet com I'm Bonnie John this has been
your first look at the HTC mozart
