hi this is Brian Bennett for cnet.com
and today we're taking a first look at
the Nexus 4 wireless charger built by LG
but sold directly by google at the
google play market the 5995 wireless
charger is made specifically to harness
the Nexus force inductive charging
technology it uses the Qi wireless power
standard meaning that with this product
you'll be able to charge your Nexus 4
handset conveniently without having a
mess around with cables the design of
the Nexus 4 wireless charger is simple
basic yet thoughtful shaped like an orb
the gadget is compact about the size of
say a small tangerine you'll find only
one connector on the device a port for
its micro USB cable and AC adapter on
the front of the charger is a flat
rubbery surface that grips the smooth
glass back surface of LG's Nexus phone
tightly you can place the Nexus 4 on the
wireless charger either in portrait or
landscape orientation and you know
you're charging when the phone alerts
you the wireless charger is also compact
and easy to find room for on tables and
nightstands plus a rubbery ring on the
bottom ensures it won't slide around LG
claims the Nexus 4 wireless charger will
power up the phone's battery fully in
about four hours while the wireless
charger seems to be a great purchase for
nexus 4 owners it is a pretty no frills
device for example it can't power
multiple products at the same time such
as the energizer dual inductive charger
it lacks fancy extras to like the
powermat 24-hour power systems portable
battery be sure to check back soon for a
