if your Wi-Fi is slow and you didn't
optimize your router you're doing it all
wrong all you want to do is Netflix and
chill but your router is so slow that a
weekend of binging is mostly just
buffering there are a few ways to solve
this and it all has to do with how you
set up your router the most important
factor is placement if your router is
tucked away behind a closet or in some
media cabinet those enclosures are
blocking your router signal so place
your router somewhere out in the open at
least a few feet off the ground any
device that can see your router will
have the best connection if your
streaming box or computer are close
enough connect them to the router with
an Ethernet cable you should also dive
into your router settings most routers
have two frequencies 2.4 gigahertz and 5
gigahertz so if you have the option use
5 gigahertz for the fastest connections
if you're stuck with 2.4 gigahertz then
it's really all about the channel that
you choose most new routers will
automatically choose the least crowded
Channel but if yours doesn't well
there's an app for that Wi-Fi analyzer
for Android will automatically scan your
network to find the best channel and
finally maybe just maybe it's your
internet service provider many providers
offer tier data speeds so there's a
chance you might need to upgrade to see
the speeds you want and now you're doing
it right
