if you're upgrading to iOS 10 or trading
up to a new phone here are two ways to
back up an iPhone connect the iPhone to
the computer and launch i-tunes if it
doesn't automatically start click the
phone icon in the upper left corner to
bring up this summary screen underneath
the backups option select backup now you
can also select to automatically sync
the phone when it's plugged in to set up
encryption to the backup select the box
this will carry over keychain
information like passwords and health
app data if you ever need to restore the
phone the second backup method is iCloud
with your phone on Wi-Fi go to the
Settings icon then iCloud select the
iCloud backup toggle and then press back
up now to restore from an iTunes backup
select the option in iTunes from iCloud
first reset the phone then choose the
restore from iCloud backup option when
setting up your device in San Francisco
