hey guys Jason Cipriani here a CNET how
to contributor and today I want to take
a look at how to disable auto rotation
on Android now this can be a blessing as
well as a source of frustration for
users if you slightly tilt the phone
while you're using it and it rotates and
you're not wanting that behavior to
happen so there's a couple different
ways to go about disabling or preventing
screen rotation or locking the screen to
one rotation the first would be going
into the Settings app selecting display
and then unchecking the auto rotate
screen button what that does is locks
the display into place so you will not
be able to rotate your screen should
your device rotate now if we go back and
we re enable that there's also widgets
you can get from the Google Play Store
so I just downloaded a random widget I
picked the first one that came up in the
search results and right now screen
rotation is on however if I turn it off
I'm not able to rotate the screen which
is a lot quicker than going through
settings display and then unchecking a
box and just to show turn it back on and
there we have it so don't be stuck with
a device that's always rotating on you
leading to frustration you're able to
control it through the settings or
download a widget which is a lot easier
to access than going through your
settings display and unchecking a box
once again that was how to disable auto
rotation on Android this was Jason
