2017-03-23
if your left Nintendo switch controller or joy con D syncs with the console while you're using it we have a simple fix before we get started Nintendo knows some left joy con are experiencing connectivity problems we definitely recommend simply sending your controller to Nintendo who will fix the problem for free including shipping both ways not to mention they get the job done with a pretty quick turnaround but if you want to take matters into your own hands and you don't mind potentially voiding your switch warranty here's the fix you'll need a pair of tweezers a small phillips head screwdriver and a small tri wing screwdriver which isn't phillips so you may have to get it in a special kit you'll also need a small bit of conductive polyurethane foam also a quick thanks to Sean Hollister for loaning us his hands and joy con to demonstrate this fix open up your left joy con by removing the Tri wing screws on the back of the controller once you're in move the battery out of your way but don't detach it then remove only these three Phillips screws holding down the plastic plate underneath the battery and pop it out so you can access the circuit board take your tweezers and drop the conductive foam onto the lower right side of the board right here from there it's as simple as putting the plate back making sure not to snag the ribbon cables when you do reseeding the battery and closing up your joy con this is how Nintendo appears to be fixing the joy cons in their own repair facilities and it seems to solve the issue without too much fuss now you can get back to exploring Hyrule in Legend of Zelda breath of the wild without any dropped connections you
