sonís is one of the first audio
companies to enable voice control via
Amazon Alexa and we're going to walk you
through setting up your existing seller
speaker with an Amazon echo dot as an
example and then how to control it
firstly make sure you have the latest
version of the Amazon Alexa app and then
make sure your sonar system is also
up-to-date at the moment Amazon control
is part of the Sonos public beta so you
need to sign up for it first
so in the Sonos app press more then
settings and then advanced settings tap
beta program and then select join the
beta program once you have your sonís
up and running most of the work then
involves the Alexa app so using the
Alexa app go to skills in the menu and
search for Sonos once you've found it
add it and then click yes until you need
to give permission for Alexa to control
your sonís there press ok next you'll
need to sign into your Amazon account
next you'll get a pop up for you to
choose your devices press the discover
button and it should find sona's devices
on your system automatically lastly use
your Amazon Alexa app to choose your
default music surface and put in your
sign-in details now if it's all working
correctly you should be able to ask the
soleus to play music just be aware that
unlike Google home you can't set up one
speaker as your default so you need to
say the name of your device each time
you want to play music but Alexa will
know when you're using your speaker so
you might need to repeat the name each
time
