hey guys Jason Cipriani here a CNET how to contributor and today I'm going to cover how to figure out which app is pulling your location in the background everyone through all that location indicator gets stuck on and you may have inadvertently turned a nap on or there may be a bug in iOS they'll just keep him that indicator on let's take a look at how to figure out which app it is and how to troubleshoot it alright so as you can see here my location indicator is on indicating to me that an app is pulling my location in the background and reporting it back to the servers or using it in Yap so to figure out which app it is if I don't remember turning an app on or that feature on in an app or setting a reminder that's set up to alert alert me based off the location what I'll need to do is go into settings go to location services now we have a list of all the apps that polar location at some point any of the apps that have accessed your location within the last 24 hours has a little location indicator next to the toggle switch and what we're looking for right now to begin troubleshooting is one of those indicators that's actually a light purple and there it is work + seems to be pulling my location in the background to verify it we're gonna hit the toggle switch and the location indicator up top has gone way now turn it back on and it's back on and now I've already gone ahead and looked in work plus there is no setting to turn off to the background location search so the only way to fix it in this case is to delete the app or leave the location services off of that particular app however in the future if there was an app that gets stuck or it's a random bug in iOS 5 but only what I would do is just toggle the switch and usually that takes care of my location being pulled in the background or even just the location indicator up top being stuck in the on position you
