Amazon's Alexa AI is expected to arrive
in many new places this year but
somewhere users have been able to tap
into Alexa for months now is from their
smartphones through third-party apps now
Amazon has made it official by adding
Alexa to the Amazon app for iOS here's
how to use it you may have noticed while
using the Amazon app that there is a
microphone to the right of the search
bar at the top of the app previously
this was specifically used for searching
for products reordering previously
purchased items or tracking your orders
with the latest update this voice search
function harnesses the full power of
Alexa just open the Amazon app tap the
microphone and say your usual commands -
the wake word this version of Alexa can
do almost everything Alexa speakers can
do with the only exception being the
recently announced door lock API this
means you can enable and use the vast
library of Alexa skills control your
smart home play your podcasts to read
your audiobooks and even get updates on
the news and weather all without ever
leaving the Amazon app here are some
