I'm Andrew Foyle
CNET and I'm here with the huawei media
pad x1 it's a 7-inch tablet but it has a
SIM card slots which lets you make 3G
calls or send SMS texts so you would be
forgiven for thinking that it's a phone
now seven inches it might be too big to
realistically work as a phone but we
have seen some pretty big devices that
do blur the line between phone and
tablet before it has a slim metallic
body which is comfortable to hold easy
to slide into a jacket pocket and I
actually think it looks rather nice as
well the seven-inch screen has a full HD
resolution and it seems easily bright
and bold enough for you to enjoy some
Netflix shows it's packin a 1.6
gigahertz quad-core processor and it's
running Android 4.2 jelly bean now that
is quite an old version of Android but
Huawei has put its emotion UI over the
top so you might not notice that you're
running old software you also get an 8
megapixel rear camera a 5 megapixel
front-facing camera for all those great
selfies you also get a five thousand
milliamp an hour battery inside and a
micro SD card slot to expand the 16 gig
of built-in storage the sadly no word on
pricing from Huawei yet but we are
expected to hear more when it goes on
sale in the second half of the year
while we have said it will be coming to
the UK but wider availability is yet to
be announced but make sure to keep it
seen it for all the latest news I'm
Andrew Hoyle and this is the highway
media pad x1
