hello everyone i'm jason parker for cnet
and i'll be taking a closer look at iOS
eights photo library and camera features
we'll start with search instead of
scrolling through a huge wall of photos
to find specific shots the Photos app
now has a search field at the top
touching it brings up search suggestions
like nearby one year ago home or a city
you've taken a lot of pictures in it
will also keep track of your recent
searches unfortunately the Photos app
still doesn't have a way to tag your
shots but this new system helps you zero
in on images more quickly next the
camera app Apple is added a bunch of
neat tools for getting great shots
including a new time-lapse camera for
those fast-moving video projects but you
also can set a time shot and the app
gives you options for three or ten
seconds next once the shot is taken you
can touch the crop tool that doubles as
a way to realign your image now you
already have these filters but now
there's a great color correction tool as
well here you can adjust light color and
black and white values using sliders but
what's cool here is that these are smart
sliders so when you're adjusting the
light slider for example it's taking
into account the exposure highlights
shadows and other adjustments to give
you the perfect lighting also if you
want to fine tune your image you can use
a slider to adjust each of those as well
that's it for a closer look at the
photos and camera apps in iOS 8 i'm
jason parker for cnet thanks for
watching
