instagram has been letting you share
photos with filters for quite a while
now but starting today you can now also
shoot video and the latest version of
the app when you hit the camera button
there's a new button to shoot video on
the right side of the screen like
Twitter's vine app Instagram video
records while you're touching the screen
and stops when you let go but unlike
vine you get 15 seconds of shooting time
and if you make a mistake or want to
reshoot a section Instagram video lets
you delete the latest section using an
on-screen backspace button so you can
quickly reshoot at the end of your video
you can touch next to move on to the
next step applying filters here you'll
be able to watch your video and you can
browse through thirteen filters to see
which you like best just below the video
you can turn on instagrams cinema
feature to stabilize your video or just
keep the raw footage the next step is to
pick a cover frame that will be
displayed in your feed before the video
starts playing finally you'll move on to
the share screen where you can add a
caption add your location and choose
which social networks to share with if
you don't pick any of the ones at the
bottom your video will still be shared
with other Instagram users Instagram is
available right now for free at the App
Store and on google play with all these
new features expect to see a lot more
activity as people rediscover instagram
i'm jason parker for cnet and this has
been a first look at instagrams new
video features thanks for watching
