instagram has officially gone live the
photo sharing app announced its new live
feature back in November but only rolled
it out to a select number of users now
it's available for everyone if you're
familiar with other services like
Facebook live or periscope the
experience should feel very similar
swipe right from your feed as if you
were to start a new story and then
toggle to the new live option on the
bottom of your screen to confirm once
you're ready to go your followers will
immediately receive a notification of
your broadcast on their lock screen or
they can just tap the story bubble that
says live on the app viewers appear on
the top left with a comment and reaction
icons on the bottom what sets instagrams
live videos apart from Facebook and
periscope is that once the broadcast has
concluded it is no longer available to
rewatch so you get one shot 2016 has
been a busy year for Instagram they
added some snapchat like features
including stories and disappearing
messages the new live feature further
completes this transformation into an
all-encompassing social media platform
that is perhaps trying to do a little
bit too much while some people may like
the variety Instagram purists may not be
as happy with the constant updates and
