KitchenAid has added something really
cool to this latest oven an electric
oven called the K s e-g 950 ESS this
oven includes a downdraft ventilation
system which means there's a vent built
right into the middle of the oven that's
supposed to suck in all the smoke and
the steam that comes from cooking on
your cooktop and I have to admit it did
a great job however there was still some
smoke that managed to make it into the
air and when I was cooking two batches
of bacon at once I really needed to turn
on the overhead fan we have in the Test
Kitchen to make sure that the air was
nice and clear the downdraft ventilation
system would be great if you don't have
an overhead fan or vent in your own
kitchen it's better than nothing but it
still isn't going to work perfectly you
also have to keep in mind that the
ventilation system takes up valuable
real estate on the cooktop where there
would traditionally be a fifth burner on
ovens such as this one there's the vent
which takes up a lot of room and can
kind of get tricky to maneuver around so
there are some quirks with the downdraft
ventilation system this is a pretty good
oven to put into your kitchen the vent
works pretty well and the oven cooks
really really great now this oven comes
at a pretty hefty cost three thousand
one hundred and forty nine dollars so if
you are willing to make this investment
be prepared to shell out a good amount
of money for more information about this
