solar panels aren't suitable for every
house so the first thing you should do
is find out if your roof gets enough Sun
throughout the day the easiest way to
check your home for solar viability is
by typing your address into Google's
Project sunroof website the tool will
let you know how many hours of Sun your
house gets per year and how much money
you could save by switching to solar
Google sunroof is only available in some
areas so if your house isn't in one of
them you'll need to do the legwork
yourself an easy way to get a good
estimate is by finding your location on
solar maps provided by the National
Renewable Energy Laboratory if your home
is in an area of the country that
receives very little son you may not be
able to go solar from that point you'll
need to do some math to find out if
going solar will save you money in San
Francisco I'm Sharon Profis cnet.com for
