there are basically two types of 360
degree cameras ones with two or more
lenses and ones with a single lens like
this the kodak pixpro sp3 64k the single
lens is able to capture a 235 degree
angle of view and the complete 360
degree horizontal axis creating
immersive photos and video the thing is
if you want fully spherical video to
capture everything you'll still need
another camera so kodak sells a dual
pack that comes with a little remote to
simultaneously start them recording and
a special mount to hold them
back-to-back
unfortunately the mount is a bit of a
pain to use because of these screws and
the lack of access to the ports and card
slots but it does get the job done and
once you've got your recordings you can
feed them into the basic auto stitching
software that Kodak includes and the
emphasis there is on basic so if you're
looking for a lot of control over
results you're going to need better
software as for playback kodak software
allows you to upload straight to youtube
or you can export and upload to facebook
and for those times when you don't want
360 video you can use the SP 360 to
capture flat widescreen clips in Ultra
HD resolution like a regular action cam
and with built-in Wi-Fi and NFC you can
use a mobile app to control the camera
and see what you're shooting with your
smartphone these cameras do require more
effort than the point-and-shoot type 360
cameras like those from Rico and LG but
in the end the SP 364 K is more
versatile and the video quality is
pretty good too
