hi I'm David Katz my from CNN I'm at CES
2013 this is the LG booth and I'm here
with one of the LG's new features for
their highest end TVs this is called
finger gesture LG is calling this a new
way to control the TVs via gesture a
little bit more precise than using your
hands they say there's a little camera
on the top of the TV when I hold up my
finger I can actually point using a
little bit more precise action now I
tried it out this demo isn't quite as
precise as I'd like to see in fact my
arm got pretty tired trying to wave
around and figure out how it works
LG says that they will improve the
technology when the TV comes to market
is going to be on the la 8600 TV in the
US and hire models elsewhere going into
the system you can see I can play with
the games here I can make menu
selections and I can do a bunch of other
things the way it's activated is you
just hold up your finger make a little
clicking motion and then kind of wave it
around the screen so very basic of
course if you misplace your remote
control it might be a little handy the
motion remote that LG includes is a lot
more precise than this finger thing but
again it's a pretty novel way to control
your television I'm David Katz Meyer
