LG steps back into VR with new lightweight headset
2016-02-21
virtual reality has been all the rage
lately and LG is taking a second stab at
the industry with its new VR headset
weighing in at about six ounces the
device is lightweight compared to most
other VR headsets that's because instead
of sticking your phone into the headset
and using it as a display this device
connects to your phone with a USB type-c
tether although that means the dangling
wire increases your chances of looking
like even more of a dork it also means
the headset feels a lot lighter on your
face as you move around you view view
our videos through two small lenses both
of which are independently adjustable so
if you have different prescriptions for
each eye you can adjust that accordingly
LG says that the whole experience is
like viewing a 130 inch TV from two
meters away well I don't know exactly
what that feels like and I'm a little
bit rusty on my metric system I can't
say that the headset does offer an
immersive and comfortable experience in
addition to the LG g5 the headset works
with other Android phones that have the
snapdragon 820 processor no pricing
information has been released yet but LG
has said it will be available sometime
after the g5 launches in April
oh this is this is Goliath this is my
favorite roller coaster at Six Flags
