Lenovo Ideacentre Y900 hits the virtual reality sweet spot
2016-03-31
we've looked at a lot of VR ad computers
lately for the oculus rift and for the
HTC vive ranging from about $1000 to way
more than $4,000 and what we figured out
is the sweet spot is right around $2,000
that'll get you a core i7 CPU and an
NVIDIA GeForce 1984 your graphics card
and that's exactly what you get here in
the Lenovo idea Center why 900 it's a
big bulky Tower there's no liquid
cooling inside so a good thing there's a
lot of empty space inside the chassis
and some big fans it's also nice that
the side panel comes right off with a
button press so you can upgrade the
graphics card later on if you want to or
add more hard drives on the outside
there's a couple of red lights just to
keep a little bit of that gamer centric
dorm room chic going on gaming PC's they
just can't seem to get away from that
but I do love the big mechanical
keyboard it comes with plus it's a
pretty decent gaming mouse also so if
you're looking for a no surprises PC for
virtual reality the lenovo idea center
why 900 is about is right down the
middle as it gets
