Windows 8 maybe just around the corner
in late October but the surface tablet
won't be the only device that will be
out there one of the prime competitors
or co-conspirators in the Windows 8
tablet revolution is the Lenovo ThinkPad
tablet 2 which is a Windows 8 tablet
that does not run RT it runs full
Windows 8 Professional and off of an
atom processor no less
unlike the high-end Ultrabook processors
that are going to be in the surface pro
this is sort of an in-betweener type
product and the price has not been
announced yet but as a bright 10.1 inch
screen and a lot of professional
features including optional fingerprint
reader and some TPM features that could
be usable for business professionals
some of the other details and various
configurations are not available yet but
it felt pretty comfortable in our hands
and about the heft and size of a 3rd
generation iPad this could be an
interesting alternative for those who
want to travel and engage in business
teleconferencing and don't want to be
limited to Windows RT another notable
feature on the tablet 2 is a stylus
which provides accurate handwriting and
note-taking abilities but you can't
always get on a multi-touch tablet plus
as a dock connector that allows you to
plug in an excellent ThinkPad style
keyboard I'm Scott Stein and that's a
quick look at the Lenovo ThinkPad tablet
