Apple's announcement about iPhone 4 it's
later today but Apple already released
an update to iPhone it is iOS 4.1 it
claims to improve the reporting of how
much reception you have on your phone if
you want to follow along with Apple's
event we will of course have a live blog
for you at news.com and Amazon is being
sued by Discovery Communications
discovery claims that Amazon infringed
patents having to do with eBook delivery
on the Kindle discovery said the patents
in question were obtained in 1999 and
2007 and do not click on a video in
facebook promising you the truth about
coca-cola it is the latest facebook scam
looking for the truth about you namely
your personal information the message
accompanying the video claims to have
discovered something horrific about Coke
it asks you to share the video and then
your personal info don't do it
and the newest version of Ford's Sync
now recognizes over 10,000 commands Ford
Sync is the in-car navigation calling an
entertainment system the new MyFord
Touch system will come in the 2011 Ford
Edge it will be able to recognize
commands like call mom or directions to
Starbucks or increase temp and Firefox
released an iPhone app it isn't really a
competing browser instead it lets you
keep track of where you were on your
browser on your PC from your mobile
device it's called Firefox home for iPod
Touch or iPhone it gives you your
desktop history bookmarks and open tabs
on iPhone if you install the Firefox
plug-in you can then open those sites on
your iPhone either from within the app
or on mobile safari and finally the UK
government launched a scary layer on
Google Earth it demonstrates what will
happen if carbon emissions are not
curbed it shows the Earth's temperature
rising leading to things like drought
instability and violence it is not a
feel-good thing but hopefully it's
enough to motivate us to make some
changes the free layer is called 4
degrees Celsius
