technology industry visionary Steve Jobs
has passed away Apple confirmed the news
with a statement from their Board of
Directors saying quote Steve's
brilliance passion and energy were the
source of countless innovations that
enrich and improve all our lives the
world is immeasurably better because of
Steve his greatest love was for his wife
laureen and his family our hearts go out
to them and to all who were touched by
his extraordinary gifts jobs founded
apple computer with friend and business
partner Steve Wozniak after the success
of the apple to computer he launched the
original Macintosh computer which
introduced the mouse and the graphical
user interface to mainstream computing
later he was asked it from the very
company he found it in a power struggle
but went on to found next computing in
1995 Pixar Animation Studios a company
he rescued and bought released Toy Story
the first major feature length computer
animated film in 1996 Apple desperate
for next-generation operating system
bought next computer returning Steve
Jobs back to the company he founded as
interim CEO he / apples product line and
launched the then revolutionary iMac
since then apple has released a slew of
industry changing products in 2001 the
company launched the ipod in 2003 the
company launched itunes in 2007 the
iPhone and most recently in 2010 the
iPad it is without a doubt that Steve
Jobs vision has had a profound impact on
not only the technology industry but
culture at large President Barack Obama
released a statement saying in part
quote the world has lost a visionary and
there may be no greater tribute to Steve
success than the fact that much of the
world learned of his passing on a device
he invented it is with the utmost
sincerity and appreciation that we here
loaded and cnet thank mr. jobs for all
he has done for the technology industry
our lives and the world have without a
doubt been profoundly affected by the
vision of this man we wish his family
his friends his fellow co-workers at
Apple and colleagues across the
