Marshall Major II: A $100 headphone worth listening to

I'm David Carr lightfrom cnet.com and
this is the Marshall major - and on your
headphone that lists for $119 it costs
around a hundred dollars online the
major - looks similar to the original
major but this new model is
significantly improved with a better
design and better sound and it's a good
value at its price point for starters
the ear cups have a more rounded design
and the hinges in headband allow for
more flexibility and the headphones just
fit your head better and are more
comfortable to wear the double-ended
coil cord has an inline 1 button remote
and microphone for cell phone calls and
the court is now detachable it has a
more durable L plug end on the headphone
itself the dual 3.5 millimeter jacks
allow you to choose which side you
prefer to wear your cable on or you can
have a friend jack in and share your
music Marshall says the headphones new
vinyl finish is more durable and while I
can't tell you how these will hold up
over time they do look and feel a little
more swanky and sturdy than the original
the major - also sounds better with
improved bass response and increased
detail it's a fairly warm forgiving
headphone that works well with a variety
of music but maintains a decent amount
of clarity you sometimes get a little
too much bass push in a sub-100
headphone which leads to some muddiness
but overall this headphone is pretty
well balanced and sounds as good as more
expensive headphones we've tested there
you have it the Marshall major - a nice
upgrade over the original and one of the
better on ear headphones for the money
I'm David Carr Noy thanks for watching
