sued Microsoft were automatically
upgrading her computer to Windows 10 the
courts cited with Goldstein and ordered
Microsoft to pay up Microsoft opted not
to appeal which meant Microsoft had to
pay Goldstein $10,000 Goldstein used her
computer to run her travel agency
business moving her computer to Windows
10 caused her machine to be slow crash
and essentially be unusable for days
Goldstein says she had never heard of
Windows 10 and she did not authorize the
update the upgrade to her machine
happened too close to the original
release of Windows 10 last year there
has been some public backlash to
Microsoft being really pushy with its
upgrade prompts Microsoft will be
changing that update prompt with new
options users will be able to choose
from upgrade now choose time or decline
free offer that new product will roll
out to all users within a week clicking
the red X on the top right will actually
dismiss the prompt in an older version
