i'm eric franklin and i'm here with the
virtuix Omni it's a omnidirectional
surface that uses a low-friction surface
allows you to walk around in the game
world while staying in place in the real
world also uses the oculus rift for head
tracking and the kinect sensor for added
motion tracking you also have used these
special shoes that have low friction
soles on the bottom and if you want to
go hands-free you'll need to employ the
stabilizing belts a prototype right now
and looks kind of intimidating I
actually couldn't put it on I was a
little too big a little too tall for it
but if you're a smaller skinnier person
then you'll definitely put this on using
half-life 2 for the demo but it actually
works with any pc game so I'm pretty
excited to give it a try ok and lean
forward lean into your step ahead put
your weight on your word oh just run for
free ok all right once I can hold on I'm
pretty good feels like I'm walking on
ice right now
I'm even my head tonight sometimes I
forget that I'm doing that oh I told
that I was looking that way the Omni is
still available on Kickstarter for 429
dollars that will end in July and then
you can pre-order it for between four
hundred ninety nine dollars and five
hundred ninety-nine dollars those orders
will start shipping in January of next
year i'm eric franklin and this has been
a first look at the virtuix Omni
