hey there guys I'm Megan Millar's and
Pristina here at the Tara gallery in San
Francisco taking a look at the second
generation nest protect that's their
second smoke and carbon monoxide
detector so the first thing you'll
notice is that this thing is smaller it
has a sleeker profile than the original
I think it's actually 11% sleeker than
the original it also has a built-in
technology totally revamp technology
that can supposedly distinguish between
slow and fast burning fires so that it
really knows what's going on in your
house and has an eye into what's
happening it also can tell if bugs or
other debris has gotten into the sensor
and that can keep it from doing any fall
sensors so it wouldn't go off for that
and it would go off for smoke which is a
great thing because false alarms are
really really annoying it also has a new
app interface that lets you turn off the
smoke alarm from your phone so there's
no more fiddling around with it you know
on the ceiling trying to figure out
what's going on it costs $99 and it is
available next month thanks for watching
this first look of the second-generation
nest protect be sure to check out the
rest of our coverage on Sina comm I'm
Megan morton's heads up there's smoke
downstairs the alarm they sound
