hi I'm Alexis Avedis here at CES 2015
taking a first look at the brand new NIC
on D 5500 this is Nichols very first
DSLR featuring a touchscreen at the back
and it's been a long time coming but
it's pretty fluid and seamless to use
you get all the sort of similar
functionality are used to from a
touchscreen including options like pinch
to zoom in as well as tap to focus or
tap to take the shot if you so desire
this is also one of Nikon's most light
DSLRs on the market it's 420 grams or
fourteen point nine ounces in the
imperial system now because of the
lightweight system it's quite nice to
feel in the hand it doesn't feel like
it's any odd counterbalance especially
when you've got the kit the kit 18 to 55
millimeter lens or like I've got on it
now 255 to 200 millimeter lens inside
the guts include a twenty four point two
megapixel CMOS sensor now there's no
optical low-pass filters so this
theoretically should deliver sharper
shots inside is also built in Wi-Fi
which you can use through the included
Nikon app you can download for iOS or
Android pricing and availability it will
be available soon in the u.s. it will
cost eight hundred and ninety nine
dollars body only or with an 18 to 55
millimeter kit expect to pay nine
hundred and ninety nine dollars I'm Lexi
