groan as smartphone accessory that's
basically what parrots been doing since
it launched its ar.drone in 2010 and
continues with its line of mini drones
I'm Josh Goldman Luci net and this is
one of those mini drones the rolling
spider there are a lot of many quad
copters out there but the spider is a
little different and then it's loaded
with sensors to make it really easy to
pick up and fly regardless of skill
level it's completely controlled with a
smartphone or tablet and it has these
attachable wheels that let you drive the
spider on the ground and roll it up
walls and across ceilings the wheels
also give is propeller some protection
while you do flips with a couple of taps
on the screen and it's a good thing the
propellers do have some protection
because it only comes with one set
you also get only one battery pack and
that typically lasts for just five to
eight minutes of flight and has to be
charged in the spider and that takes 90
minutes for a full charge and while
similarly sized copters have cameras
capable of HD photos and video the
rolling spider can only take low
resolution stills from the bottom you
can read the full review on cnn.com but
if you can live with those shortcomings
it's stable flight and easy operation
make it an excellent mini quadcopter for
novice pilots are those just looking for
a few minutes of fun I'm Josh :
and that's a look at the parrot
mini-drone rolling spider
