Qualcomm files lawsuit against Apple iPhone and iPad makers

Qualcomm is suing Apple iPhone makers
Qualcomm and Apple are currently
battling over patent royalties in April
the news broke that Apple stopped paying
Qualcomm patent royalties to contract
manufacturers for phone patents owned by
Qualcomm Qualcomm just filed a lawsuit
saying four companies including Pegatron
and Foxconn are breaching their patent
licensing agreements with Qualcomm by
not paying royalties these four
companies build all iphones and ipads
made worldwide qualcomm says it's
seeking an order that would require the
companies to comply with their contracts
Qualcomm is also seeking damages
Qualcomm statement says the four
companies are not disputing their
contracts instead the companies say they
must follow Apple's instructions not to
pay the general counsel of Qualcomm said
the manufacturers must continue to live
up to their obligations under these
agreements and Apple should immediately
cease its tortious interference Apple
sued Qualcomm in January of this year
claiming unfair licensing terms Qualcomm
is the company that created tech that
allows phones to connect to cell
networks Qualcomm made several
counterclaims against Apple including
breach of contract for more information
