if you're looking to upgrade your home
theater system or build a new hi-fi the
most important choice you'll make is
over which speakers to buy more so than
any other component the sky's the limit
for how much you can spend on a pair but
based on the performance of these
speakers you can get great sound for
under a grand hi I'm Ty Pendlebury and
the SVS prime towers offer great sound
great looks and cost less than many TVs
while the piano finish seen here costs
an extra hundred dollars per cabinet the
attractive black ash version is
available for 999 dollars these are
moderately tall floor standing speakers
and they feature a 3.5 Way design with a
dedicated mid-range driver and two
differently tuned bass drivers like a
lot of new speakers we're seeing now the
aluminum tweeter is covered by a
protective grille great if you have kids
or very drunken friends these are very
details and dynamic speakers and will
work in both home theater setups or in
to channel and you may not even need a
subwoofer depending on the size of your
room
whether you like rock classical or
big-budget movies the SVS of a great
sound in return for your investment
while they have no real flaws my only
caveat is they can lack warmth and
sometimes intimacy with voices compared
to other speakers at the price at this
price though you won't get anywhere near
this level of build quality or sound
quality and for this the SVS prime tower
are an audiophiles bargain
