I'm Dan Ackerman and we are here taking
a closer look at the US version of
samsung's new ativ book 9 light laptop
now that light in the name means that
this is going to be a more
budget-friendly version of Samsung's
usually pretty fancy super thin ultra
book laptops this actually looks a lot
like the more expensive versions it's
maybe a little bit heavier but for a
budget price laptop the specific model
is gonna be $7.99 it actually looks very
nice indeed of course you've got a
touchscreen because it's a new Windows 8
ultra book style laptop and you've also
got four gigs of RAM the budget part of
it comes in part because instead of an
Intel processor this has but frankly
Samsung is basically calling a white
label processor what it really is is a
special quad-core CPU that AMD has made
specifically for this system for Samsung
although it's not going to say AMD
anywhere on the laptop itself and with
that you get AMD s pretty decent
integrated Radeon graphics the screen is
only a 1366 by 768 screen but if I'm
spending seven or $800 on a 13-inch slim
laptop you know that seems fairly
reasonable to me this guy should be
available if the very end of July and
you can pre-order it starting now and
that is the Samsung ativ book 9 light
