here's a tablet that's designed to take a beating is the Samsung Galaxy Tab active designed for business types and unveiled here at E for 2014 in Berlin let's take a look so this tablet is all about being rugged it's just resistant and it's water resistant as well samsung says that it wouldn't recommend holding it underwater for a long period of time but it should handle light water damage so you'll be fine to take out in the rain as a security conscious device this has got access to Samsung's Knox software which stores all of your important documents and private files securely beneath its rugged exterior however this is a pretty standard Android tablet it has an 8 inch display that's got a 1280 by 800 pixel resolution humming away inside is a 1.2 gigahertz quad-core processor and it's running Android version 4.4 kitkat around the back there's a 3.1 megapixel camera and inside there's 16 gigabytes of storage which if you need to you can beef up using a microSD card so Samsung is aiming this squarely at businesses for now but we would like to see a consumer version and that's because if you do want a tablet that's ready to face the elements you currently don't have very many options let us know what you think I'm Luke Westray for CNET check out cnet.com slash for much much more
