if you're a home cinema buff you had
been waiting patiently for the release
of 4k blu-ray the next upgrade to high
definition blu-ray and the first player
off the production line is the Samsung
newbie DK 8500 worth 499 dollars as the
first player available there's nothing
else to compare the Samsung 2 but it
plays the first wave of 4k blu-rays very
well compared again 1080p discs the
Samsung is able to produce a better
picture even if the first discs have
some issues if you're an early adopter
it's probably the most promising of the
three players expected this year and
probably worth the upgrade but make sure
you have a 4k TV with HDR built in
because otherwise the initial discs
don't look that much better than 1080p
discs the K 8500 looks good with a
brushed finish but it does lack some
usability features such as a display and
fast forward and rewind buttons on the
remote if you're loading discs it's
relatively speedy those so are $100
blu-ray players but where a can beat
keeper plays is through Roku like times
for accessing Netflix only 6 seconds to
load it up from go to whoa
whilst not the cheapest player around
it's a good way to experience the latest
and possibly very last video disk format
you
