hey everybody you're looking at Samsung's 8k ATV this thing is 85 inches it's the q9s and yes samsung says it will be shipping this year this is the first 85 inch TV with 8k resolution that samsung says uses AI technology now this is an AI like Alexa or Google Assistant where you ask for stuff this AI is AI picture processing the idea of course is to take an incoming 4k or even 2k a HD picture and scale it all the way up to those 8k pixels of course the reason why Samsung wants to do this is because right now there is no 8k content available so the only thing you're gonna watch on this TV is 4k or 1080p stuff now if this ai processing does the job it'll look really really good but mind you the 8k resolution for a lot of people is already beyond their visual acuity so you're really not gonna get that much of a benefit from looking at these extra packed tiny little pixels unless you sit extremely close which is pretty uncomfortable on 85 inch TV beyond the resolution this TV has a really cool form factor it's kind of got this lean back easel style look with these cool legs that come up from the bottom Samsung is f to specify pricing or availability on the q9s although they does say it will ship this year I'm David Katz my 4 C net at CES 2018 and this is the Samsung q9 s 8k TV with AI technology and 85 inch television at CES 2018
