we get about VR headsets for a moment
Samsung is working on augmented reality
contact lenses the company filed a
patent back in 2014 for smart contact
lenses and this week it was granted that
patent in South Korea these futuristic
contacts will apparently include a tiny
camera movement sensors transmitters and
a display they'll pair with a smartphone
and you can control what you see with
blinks there's no word yet on what
you'll be able to see these lenses but
I'm guessing it'll look something like
the microsoft hololens it all sounds
crazy futuristic but smart contacts are
not all that new in 2014 Google talked
about creating a smart contact that
could help diabetics by measuring blood
glucose levels while you wore them they
aren't available yet and just last month
the FDA approved Swiss healthcare
startup sense a med to start human
testing for its smart contact lenses
that promise to cure glaucoma while
popping in my contacts every morning to
see more than just my bathroom sounds
awesome I'm skeptical this will ever
come to fruition for now I'm holding out
for the hololens
