Samsung's Galaxy Note seven is here Samsung held its latest unpacked event where it introduced the world to the Samsung Galaxy Note seven and yes it's called the note 7 the previous edition was the note 5 but now the note and Samsung's S series are numbered the same the note 6 was last seen hanging out with Windows 9 get it because they both never came out anyway the Galaxy Note usually gets features that even the Galaxy S line doesn't this time the note 7 becomes the first Samsung phone with USB see that's the reversible USB type that you might have seen on Google's Nexus 6p or Apple's MacBook the note 7 also is the first phone with Gorilla Glass 5 the maker of Gorilla Glass Corning says this version of Gorilla Glass survives up to 80% of Falls made from 1.6 meters or bit over 5 feet for you imperial types that's good because the note 7 also features a curved screen of course the note 7 features a stylus in the last version of the note the stylus could get jammed if placed into the phone the wrong way the note 7 fixed this problem no more jamming one of the more interesting features may be its iris scanner the rumors are true and the iris scanner will let you unlock your phone or private folders the note 7 is also water-resistant as far as five feet for 30 minutes otherwise the note 7 pretty much has the same insights as the s7 and the s7 edge for more details you should really check out cnet.com because we've got this thing covered that's it for this tech news update I'm Maya's akhtar and you can stay on top of the biggest stories at cnet.com slash
