Samsung's Ultra HD Blu-ray player champions a 4K, disc-based future

so one of the biggest problems with 4k
TVs currently is that there isn't a
whole lot of actual 4k stuff to watch on
them here's a gadget that could solve
that problem however it's an Ultra HD
blu-ray player from Samsung so ultra HD
blu-ray is set to be the next disc
format that takes over from blu-ray the
headline feature is that you'll get four
times as many pixels as you would from a
standard HD blu-ray but Samsung is also
talking about lots of other improvements
around color reproduction so the clips
that they've got playing here at Samsung
stand looked really good but we are
going to wait until we get this thing
into our labs for the full review before
we can really really give the verdict
from what caliber of image quality this
thing is spitting out but finally let's
also mention one little thing about the
design which is at the front of this box
itself it's curved in samsung says that
that is to match the curved nature of
its TVs so you can expect to see this
thing going on sale next year there's no
exact word on pricing yet though Samsung
has told us that it's going to be aiming
for under $500 the bigger question
though right now is whether this new
physical disc format can take off given
the surge in popularity of streaming
services like Netflix or Amazon Prime
instant video which offered great
convenience even if the video is
sometimes of a slightly lower resolution
so let us know what you think about 4k
and whether you're excited about Ultra
HD blu-ray or not and don't forget to
check out Sina TOCOM slash Eva for much
much more
you
