scientists have created a human Pig
hybrid you never know what people strive
to achieve some want to paint others
want to be president and others want to
create human animal hybrid creatures
scientists at the Salk Institute
injected a pig blastocyst
with human cells a blastocyst is that
mass of cells that occurs after the
fertilization of an egg but before it is
classified as an embryo the blastocyst
were placed back into pigs and the
embryos removed three to four weeks
later for analysis a total of 186 were
collected this is the first successful
human animal hybrid ever made okay so
why on earth would anyone decide to do
this other than attempting to create a
real-life Porky Pig the paper explaining
all of this was published in the journal
Cell the researchers say this could be
used to study human development and
disease additionally this could produce
functional human tissues other attempts
to create a hybrid have used mice as the
host animal the scientists say that
using undulates like pigs and sheep
could help in designing new drug
screening methods for those of you
wondering the Salk Institute did not
receive any government funding for this
project any money used for this project
was through private donors for more
