Self-cleaning brushroll can't save Electrolux's underwhelming stick vac
Self-cleaning brushroll can't save Electrolux's underwhelming stick vac
2015-10-09
this spiffy-looking vac has a lot going
for it it's just not very good at
cleaning serious this $150 Electrolux
Peugeot rapido lithium-ion extra is very
maneuverable it looks good and it's
relatively cheap and that rush roll
clean aspect is something that I tested
on a full upright from Eureka which has
the same parent company and the brush
roll clean on that vac was awesome with
this one that same mechanic just doesn't
have the power to be anywhere near as
effective now I don't expect it to keep
up with Eureka Eureka is a full-size
upright and stick backs shouldn't have
the power of full-size upright but this
doesn't measure up to the other sticks
we've tested it tangles pet hair it
pushes and flings Cheerios it doesn't
have enough power to get up barely any
of the sand that's in there and we've
seen lots of stick VAX do those same
tasks with much more efficiency again
its maneuverable the head turns on a
dime really really easily it's a
two-in-one vac there's a hand vac right
here it's all intuitive and the
lithium-ion battery actually lasts a
while but man this thing frustrated me
during the tests on pet hair Cheerios
sand everything I had to clean up after
the cleaner the brush roll gets hair
tangled in it really really easily to
the point that during one of the tests
it got so tangled that it stopped
running because it was clogged so I had
plenty of opportunity to test out that
brush roll clean feature but it never
really made a dent in cleaning up its
own mess you can read a whole lot more
about this and all the rest of our
vacuum tests on cnet.com for seen it on
