a sex toy company is paying its users
$10,000 each
after spying on their sex lives without
permission this sexy time snafu all
began with an internet-connected
vibrator called the we-vibe 4 plus it's
designed to be used by long distance
couples to activate remotely but the app
was reportedly peeping in on users
intimate moments collecting data on how
the toy was used linking it with the
owners personal email address sending
that information to the company servers
in Canada but made this a sticky
situation is that the app never asked
for permission to collect data and you
know that's just the kind of data you
don't want leaking out the company was
hit with a class-action lawsuit in
September and agreed to settle but
admitted to no wrongdoing anyone who
purchased the vibrator with the company
Knapp is entitled to damages of up to 10
grand but anyone who used it without the
app won't be shafted they can still
squeeze $200 out of the deal
