Sleek Sony TV sports Android smarts, lags behind in picture quality
2016-11-10
hi everybody this is the Sony xbox360 5
inch size you see here as well as a 55
inch er and massive 75 and 85 inch
versions that has sleek style and plenty
of cutting-edge features but its picture
quality falls short of the competition
let's take a closer look and his
favorite sony has again produced one
sweet looking TV the X 850 D is
understated with a thin grey frame
around the picture and a discrete Sony
logo the silver stand has a unique
steeply angled base and seen from the
side the cabin is razor thin turn it on
you're greeted by Sony's Android TV
system which I like better than the
systems designed by Samsung and LG sure
it has voice search from the remote and
a simple easy to navigate design but
it's real strength is a profusion of
apps in addition to heavy hitters like
Netflix and Amazon all with the latest
4k and HDR streams you get access to the
Android TV app store a subset of the
Google Play Store with apps designed for
big screen TVs the selection is vast and
growing every day to the extent that you
might not even need to connect an
external streamer like a Roku at all
that's the good news the bad news
revolves around picture quality the X
850 D showed lighter black levels with
worse contrast and punch than similar
TVs from makers like Samsung and Vizio
it also suffered from brighter spots
along the corners and edges and effect
made more visible with bright HDR
material many other aspects of
performance were good including color
and video processing but overall the
Sony turn a disappointing picture
quality for the price
