hello I'm the west way to cnet's here at
Mobile World Congress in Barcelona we're
taking a look at sony's new smart band
let's investigate every company seems
into making these wearable fitness
trackers at the moment and sony is no
different I like the design of this one
it's very simple and it has this
pleasant soft touch rubber feel to it
now the smart band actually comes in two
bits there's the rubber wristband that
goes around your wrist and then if I pop
this open you can see it's got this
little sensor box on the inside now sony
calls this the core so what can the
smart band do well it measures your
steps and it talks to your phone
building up a life log a whole database
profile of your activity you examine
that using Sony's lifelog app which
looks pretty cool it has this
interactive time slider which lets you
journey back to check out when you were
asleep and it even knows when you were
looking at certain apps so you can check
just how often you were looking at
Twitter it can also deter thieves once
it's paired with your mobile the
wristband will vibrate if it gets too
far away from your phone there's one
more feature I want to talk about and
that's it if you tap the smart band it
will create what Sony calls a life
bookmark now what that does is commands
the device to make a little note of
where you are who you're with so you can
create a little snapshot of your social
situation it's coming out in March it's
going to cost about ninety nine euros
would you wear one of these let me know
i'm luke westaway for cnet check out

World Congress
