Sony Swings a Prototype Tennis Sensor Towards CES 2014
2014-01-06
we love seeing weird and wonderful tech
here at CES 2014 and this is a
particularly good one it's Sony's tennis
sensor is this adorable little sensor
here you stick it on the end of a tennis
racquet and it tells you everything you
need to know about your playing
performance once you've fastened this
tiny sensor to the end of your racket it
communicates wirelessly via bluetooth to
a tablet now this thing has vibration
and motion sensors in it and with that
it can tell all kinds of data about your
swing it knows the speed of your swing
it knows the speed of the ball it knows
the type of Swing you're doing it even
knows whereabouts on the racket the
tennis ball pit it's a lot of fun to
play with I can see this being a very
cool gadget if you're an avid tennis fan
but there's some bad news this is only a
concept for now it's not going on sale
anytime soon hopefully Sony will put it
on the market in The Fairly near future
though because i think is pretty cool
i'm luke westaway for cnet's here at CES
