hello I'm the West rave cnet and today
we're taking a look at the Sony Xperia Z
ultra now the first thing you'll notice
about Sony's newest smartphone is it is
absolutely massive this display measures
6.4 inches making the Z ultra
considerably bigger than even Samsung's
Galaxy Note 2 although it's so big that
you might struggle to fit in your pocket
the resolution of this display is a tidy
1920 x 1080 pixels so on-screen action
does look very very sharp despite being
so big this phones very thin at about
six point five millimeters thick and it
feels very light too so although it's
huge it's not unported like the Sony
Xperia said it's waterproof so it should
survive an accidental trip down the
toilet spin it around the back and
you'll find an 8 megapixel camera which
is pretty standard but sony says you'll
be able to shoot hdr photos and videos
and use the water resistance to shoot HD
footage underwater which could be fun if
you have a holiday booked or if you
fancy invading your local aquarium it's
running Android 4.2 jelly bean but you
do get some extra features including a
battery stamina mode which automatically
turns off certain phone functions when
the display isn't being used so any
records this technique could make the Z
Ultra standby time up to four times as
long but we'll put that to the test in
the full review this phone is powerful
too there's a quad-core Qualcomm CPU in
here clocked at a speedy 2.2 gigahertz
meanwhile you get 16 gigabytes of
on-board storage of which 11 gigabytes a
user accessible but you can beef that up
using a microSD card if it's not enough
space so let me know if you're
interested or whether it just seems a
bit too big on the quest or a PC net and
this is the sony xperia z ultra
